For Immediate Release | Thursday February 22, 2018
Dufferin County ON: Today, business leaders from across Dufferin County gathered at the Best Western Plus Orangeville for the annual Industry Luncheon, presented in partnership by the Dufferin Board of Trade, Greater Dufferin Home Builders’ Association, and Rotary Club of Orangeville. The 2018 Luncheon welcomed over 180 guests for an afternoon of networking and the keynote address.
This year, the Industry Luncheon committee welcomed Steve Paikin, host of TVO’s The Agenda, as Keynote Speaker. Paikin discussed key themes from his latest book, Bill Davis, Nation Builder and Not So Bland After All. Paikin connected important political events in Ontario’s history with today’s politics at Queen’s Park and spoke to Davis’ importance as one of the most influential politicians in Ontario’s history. Paikin brought forward stories and pivotal moments from the Davis era that helped shape the Province as we know it today.
“Mr. Paikin brought his in-depth knowledge and personal experiences from the era to life in this highly engaging presentation” said Henry Jansen, Chair of the Industry Luncheon Committee. “Mr. Pakin connected untold stories from an important time in our Province’s history, with Bill Davis as the central figure, to today’s modern provincial politics”.
Immediately following the keynote address, the floor was opened to questions from the audience. Paikin was available following the luncheon for a book signing with copies of his newest book. The event was proudly catered by Gourmandissimo Fine Foods and sponsored by local businesses and business leaders.
