Statement of clarification regarding the article “DBOT applauds Ford’s intent to freeze the minimum wage” in the March 22, 2018 edition of the Orangeville Citizen:

The headline of the March 22nd article misrepresents the Dufferin Board of Trade in our mandate as a non-partisan advocate for the business community.

The Dufferin Board of Trade (DBOT) is a membership organization that champions a robust voice for the business community in Dufferin County. The Dufferin Board of Trade does not support or endorse any political party or candidate. As an advocate for the Dufferin Business community, DBOT champions a robust voice for business in Dufferin. We work with all levels of government to bring forward business issues, develop recommendations, and advance policy positions that work to benefit the business community in Dufferin. In the lead-up to the June 7th Provincial Election, DBOT has supported the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Vote Prosperity Platform and the four fundamental pillars of prosperity contained within; Strengthening Business Competitiveness, Fostering Job Creation, Building Healthy Communities, and Improving Government Accountability. We encourage all parties to consider the recommendations, and all Ontarians to Vote Prosperity.
