I have been in Mulmur for over 20 years. My contribution to the community started with Stop the Mega Quarry, joining up after Foodstock to help with administration and events. I participated in the creation of Food&Water First and later became the Chair of NDACT. It was through this work that I gained a fuller appreciation of farmland and source water protection.
I’m currently the part-time Executive Director for Dufferin Arts Council, and before that I was Executive Director of Headwaters Communities in Action (HCIA), which supports Headwaters Food and Farming Alliance. All of this has built a better understanding of the qualities that make our community special and vibrant.
My current volunteering is with the Dufferin Community Foundation which connects caring community members to priority issues. This fundraising lens supports community projects. All of this has fuelled my ability and passion to serve my community.
