I have lived in Orangeville for 31 of the last 35 years. Volunteering in a variety of organizations for all those years. I have been closely following municipal politics in Orangeville for the past 15 years. The dysfunction of the 2014-2018 Council is what brought me into local municipal politics. I was certain that leadership that collaborates with Council colleagues, Town Staff and Dufferin County could accomplish great things for Town residents. I was Orangeville’s first “full-time” Mayor. I took the job seriously and as a result Orangeville taxpayers benefitted from the OPP transition and the Railway sale – the rail sale netted $32,000,000. The OPP transition has saved taxpayers $10,000,000 and counting. Adding ultra-high speed fibre optic has been good for business retention and attraction We need to focus on providing more recreational amenities and programs for adults and youth. Let’s work together to make Orangeville better.
