Their newest site in Amaranth, opened in January 2025, spans 100 acres and is poised for expansion with plans for a new wash facility, mechanical bay, and a state-of-the-art customer lounge designed to welcome both clients and the local community. The decision to build here was influenced not only by the site’s space and proximity to the GTA, but also by the strong support shown by the Township of Amaranth.
Ritchie Bros specializes in transportation, agricultural, and heavy equipment auctions. What sets them apart is their global reach. As Regional Operations Manager Debra Rondinelli explains, “When you choose to sell with Ritchie Bros, the world is your customer.” Buyers and consigners from across the globe participate in their unreserved online auctions, where supply and demand—not the auctioneer—determine fair market value. Seven live auctions are held each year, and the yard open during business hours for preview, with special viewing weekends before each event.
The Amaranth site employs 60–65 people year-round, swelling to as many as 100 during auction cycles. Roles range from inspection teams and yard staff to finance and customer service managers, using local services and subtrades whenever possible. As Debra notes, “We will always go local first.”
