Economic Development Steering Committee

The County of Dufferin’s economic development steering committee, made up of representatives from municipalities across the County, as well as key business partners, has been meeting since the end of 2015 to formulate a plan to work collectively to take advantage of economic development opportunities across the County.

Building on the concept of developing ideas today to generate success for tomorrow, the Successful, Sustainable Dufferin framework takes into consideration the thriving urban areas of the County plus the natural rural strengths, and will work to ensure that there are strong connections between the three urban centres (Shelburne, Grand Valley & Orangeville).

Outcomes of the initial working sessions are based on the principle that success for one municipality is good for all, and will work on connecting the urban centres, marketing provincially, and advocating with one voice.

The Dufferin Board of Trade is proud to be an active partner on this economic development steering committee and will continue to champion an integrated approach to support business growth and development in Dufferin County.
