Dufferin ON: The Dufferin Board of Trade (DBOT) has created Open for Business Toolkits for local businesses. With an assortment of locally sourced PPE and other resources, the kits are suitable for any business that is open to the public. DBOT staff and volunteers will be delivering the kits and taking photos to launch a social media campaign that builds upon our popular #ThinkLocal #ThinkDufferin mantra by announcing that our local businesses are, indeed, “Open for Business”. Whenever possible the photos and social campaign will feature business owners and staff to highlight the people – our community members, our neighbours, our friends – that are directly impacted when consumers think local.
These toolkits not only promote small businesses and provide them with needed safety tools and information, but they also help local suppliers get their products into the hands of businesses. The kits include hand sanitizer provided by Rural Rescue First Aid & Training in Mulmur, face shields from a new local company called EasyShield, physical distancing floor decals from WDG Public Health, gloves and masks from Shelburne Giant Tiger, and sanitizer from Shelburne Home Hardware. Also included in the kits is a listing of helpful website resources and local sources of PPE and an “Open for Business” poster from Print Three Orangeville. The kits have been sponsored by 9Round, Criterium Jansen Engineers, Skorski Web Design, and the Township of Mulmur. The kits are available at no charge for all DBOT members and $20 for non-members.
