The Township of Melancthon is a rural community located in the northwest corner of Dufferin County. The township covers approximately 31,264 hectares and features a road
network of about 400 kilometers. Known for its unique survey method, the township’s primary occupation is farming, with a significant focus on potato cultivation and marketing. It also hosts various on-farm businesses, including manufacturing shops. Notably, Melancthon was the first municipality in Ontario to approve and construct a large wind farm, now home to 167 wind turbines.
