Orangeville Precast Concrete was founded in 1966 by Doug Rawn near the current location of the Petro Canada on West Broadway. Doug and Rosanne moved the company to its current highway 10 location in the mid 70’s. The company began as a small patio slab manufacturer quickly added septic tanks that helped lead to rapid growth.
Current General Manager Doug Harkness joined the firm as a summer student in 1988. He has helped the firm grow over the last 37 years while continuing to contemplate what to do after school. The Rawn family continues to own the company and second generation family members remain in key roles. A number of 3rd generation family members have recently joined the company in summers.
The company continues to grow adding its popular and proprietary Canrok retaining wall in 2009 while adding a second location in Hanover that same year. The company added its own concrete batching capabilities in 2014 become one of the larger users of produced in Dufferin County aggregates.
In addition to growing its own manufactured goods “OPC” has also seen a great deal of growth on the resale side of its operations becoming one of the larger suppliers of masonry and hardscape goods in Dufferin County and surrounding areas. The company is proud of its affiliations with sought after brands such as Canada Brick, Arriscraft, Permacon, Bestway and Oaks.
This small but mighty proud Canadian manufacture will soon celebrate 60 years of business in Dufferin County. A testament to an excellent staff and the many loyal customers it has developed over the years.
