I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Grand Valley and have lived most of my adult life here. For over 20 years, I have worked as an American Sign Language/English interpreter and have owned and operated my own interpreting business. My career has taught me the importance of communication, preparation, problem-solving, adaptability, and a commitment to a barrier-free society for all.
I have always been deeply involved in the community and currently serve as a Director on the Board of Fiddlehead Care Farm as well as Chair of the Quality, Risk & Accessibility committee. I also have over 10 years of experience on the Grand Valley Agricultural Society board.
I am running for Deputy Mayor because I care deeply about the community. I believe Grand Valley is ready for change that recognizes our unique agricultural heritage while welcoming new urban development, allowing both to complement one another.
