Dufferin ON: The Dufferin Board of Trade, in partnership with the Dufferin Federation of Agriculture will continue the proud tradition of hosting provincial election forums with the candidates running for office in the electoral district of Dufferin-Caledon.
All candidates that have currently declared they are running in Dufferin-Caledon have been invited. The Dufferin Board of Trade has received confirmation from the Liberal, Progressive Conservative, Green, and Libertarian parties. We thank all the candidates for their dedication to this community and for putting forward their names as candidates to represent our community in the Ontario Legislature.
The forums will take place on the following dates:
May 15th, 2018 | Shelburne Legion | 6:30pm – 9:00 pm
May 24th, 2018 | Orangeville District Secondary School | 6:30pm – 9:00 pm
In the lead-up to the All Candidate Forums, the Dufferin Board of Trade will be meeting with the candidates to pose questions based on the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Vote Prosperity platform, which the Dufferin Board of Trade has supported. The candidates’ responses will be posted online ahead of the debates.
The Forums will begin with a meet-and-greet with the candidates from 6:30 – 7:00. Following the meet-and-greet, the moderated forum will begin; the moderator will ask questions from those submitted ahead of the Forum. Questions must be submitted in advance for review by the Election Forums Committee. Only those selected by the Committee will be asked at the Election Forums. Each candidate will have a set time to respond to each question. Each candidate will be given a few minutes for closing remarks to summarize their positions and platform.
The deadlines to submit questions are as follows:
For the May 15th forum: questions must be submitted to the Election Forums Committee by May 14th 2018 – 9:00 AM
For the May 24th forum: questions must be submitted to the Election Forums Committee by May 23rd – 9:00 AM

The Forums will not be a town-hall format; no questions will be taken from the floor.
Information on each of the candidates will be posted on the Dufferin Board of Trade website. The community is encouraged to submit questions for the All Candidate Forums online.
