Committees

Get Involved

Make the most of your membership and get involved with a DBOT Committee. Belonging to a committee opens the door to other network connections. It also allows you a place at the decision making table to make your voice heard and to help DBOT in the planning and coordinating of programs and benefits that will help you and others in the business community. Joining a committee only requires 1-5 hours of your time a month. We are always looking for members to join any of our committees.  Contact the office today to find out how you can add your skills to make a difference.

Golf Committee

For the past 25 years, DBOT has held an annual golf tournament, which provides the business community with networking opportunities to help build sales with prospective clients while enjoying a fun day of scramble-style golf. The Golf Committee meets from January until August, to organize all facets of the annual Golf Tournament. Usually held late summer, the Golf Tournament raises funds to support DBOT programs, and allows members opportunities to gain recognition and exposure for their businesses through volunteering, sponsorship and prize donations. It is a highly anticipated event for networking because of its scramble-style format that allows for social interaction between business people and community leaders.

Dufferin Women in Business Committee

Empowering women by creating a venue to “Build, Connect & Grow”, is the foundation behind Dufferin Women in Business (DWIB), a committee that works in conjunction with DBOT.  DWIB is Dufferin’s premier women’s association geared to help women network their business, connect with other like-minded individuals, and grow not only their businesses but their knowledge base in business.  DWIB hosts regular events in a variety of formats, including luncheons and after 5’s.

Dufferin Young Professionals

DYP is a committee of DBOT and offers opportunities on a regular basis for young professionals to connect and learn.  We understand the importance of networking and more importantly “connecting”.  The DYP committee collaborate on setting the themes for each event and the organizations involved contribute financial support to cover the costs of the events so they can be offered for free to enthusiastic young professionals in the community.  The group organizes events throughout the year, presenting local experts who focus on various topics of relevance to young professionals and entrepreneurs. These popular events engage, inspire and offer great networking opportunities in a relaxed setting.
