Chairperson’s Report – 2024
As Chair of the Dufferin Board of Trade, I am proud to reflect on a year marked by growth, innovation, and collaboration. In 2024, DBOT remained steadfast in its mission to support and amplify the voice of local business, while strengthening the economic and social fabric of our community.
Through strategic partnerships, impactful events, and bold advocacy, we helped shape a more resilient and inclusive business environment across Dufferin County. From the Dream Career event that connected 1,200 students with future career paths, to the highly attended Industry Lunch and Business Excellence Awards to an expanded and activity-filled Play Local Golf Tournament, DBOT brought people together to celebrate success, spark innovation, and foster meaningful connections.
We expanded services at our social enterprise, the Dufferin Biz Hub, strengthened our voice at the provincial level through OCC advocacy, and played an active role in shaping Dufferin’s new Economic Development Strategy. The launch of the Good Business Dufferin podcast marked an exciting new chapter in storytelling and community engagement.
